All defense-related paperwork is submitted digitally
Relevant documentation is stored online and secured with digital signatures

All theses are subject to an international expert evaluation
Thesis findings must be published in international journals
Applicants are free to write their entire thesis exclusively in English
Theses may be defended in English without need for translation into Russian
Each thesis is published online a month (PhD-level) or 2 months (DSc-level) before the day of the defense
Academic Degree Councils
Each Academic Degree Council consists of 9 (PhD-level) or 11 members (DSc-level)
A specific member line-up of the Academic Degree Council is approved for every defense
Reviewers can participate remotely and submit their reviews in digital form
Degree certificates
Available in standardized forms for PhD and DSc degrees
Degree certificates (diploma) in English and Russian
Each diploma includes an individualized QR code that contains all employer-relevant data about the thesis and its defense
